Who is CarBlip?
CarBlip was founded by a multi-generational team of industry veterans and digital natives, and network of strategic alliance partners. Headquartered in Santa Monica, CarBlip is currently available throughout Southern California and will soon be expanding nationwide.
Chief Executive Officer
Johnson brings 20 years of business and entrepreneurial experience to CarBlip. Throughout his career, Johnson has launched multiple successful companies in the creative marketing, gaming, and technology industries. Johnson has worked with industry leaders such as Disney, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures and 20th Century Fox creating marketing content and apps for feature films and television. He has also developed automotive content for IndyCar, NASCAR and ALMS. In his spare time, he enjoys racing open-wheel cars at challenging race tracks.
President of Sales
Brooks has been in the automotive industry for nearly 30 years bringing a wealth of knowledge to CarBlip. He served as President & CEO of one of California’s most successful and trusted auto brokerage firms. Brooks oversees CarBlip’s growing sales team and ensures every customer’s request receives the utmost attention.
Chief Marketing Officer
Skellern has diversified experience in both automotive, financial and consumer marketing. She began her career at Evercore Partners in the Technology, Media & Telecom Group and later joined the Investor Relations and Marketing Team at American Securities, a New York-based private equity firm with more than $15 billion AUM. After leaving the finance industry, Skellern spent four years living overseas working in the travel industry focusing on content marketing and branding where she was also named one of the top female travel writers by numerous publications. Skellern was introduced to Eric Brooks who hired her as a marketing consultant for L.A. Car Connection. They then teamed up to form what is today known as CarBlip.
Director of Product
Lee has founded and advised over a dozen startups in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and the Philippines. Over the last 20 years, he has advised brands like Time Warner, Sony, Neiman Marcus and the Robb Report on digital strategy. Chang oversees all of product development and engineering at CarBlip.
Director of Business Development
Lane is a seasoned sales and business strategy professional with over 20 years experience across multiple industries. Kim’s experience includes many Fortune 500 companies, with an expertise in Automotive and Entertainment. Prior to CarBlip, Kim spent a decade at Ford Motor Company, where she held several leadership positions in both sales and customer service. After Ford, Kim spent 7 years at Edmunds.com. During that time, she helped build the Sales Team on the West Coast and took the lead in several product development projects. Kim took her territory from $0 to $9M within the first year. Today Kim is in charge of business development at CarBlip.

Based in Los Angeles, Richard is a Harvard graduate, whose passion is monetization and commercialization of innovative and disruptive products and services. Richard has a successful track record in B2B and B2C start-up and corporate environments, where he is most at home in technology, especially digital media, TV, mobile, interactive, SaaS, big data and metadata. Richard has deep expertise across core revenue generating functions, including strategic planning, organic growth, partnerships, product, data monetization, market analysis, direct-selling, managing and scaling BD and sales teams. He is an expert in venture capital and in building international, category-leading businesses at the nexus of content, data and technology.
Science, Inc. has the greatest startup portfolio value in Los Angeles in the past 10 years. The $1B sale of Dollar Shave Club incubated within the Science Incubator leads the portfolio value, with 4 other companies that have now been acquired by Google, The New York Times Co, and others.
